Population Sciences Research at UCSF
We conduct transdisciplinary and policy-relevant population dynamics research to deepen our scientific understanding of the reproductive life course.

The Population Sciences Research Unit is housed in the University of California, San Francisco, Bixby Center for Global Reproductive Health. Our 30 affiliates are population scientists with expertise in demography, social science, public health, biostatistics, and genetics. We study complex  population health issues and develop and test policies and interventions that address serious health challenges in the US and globally. Our research areas deepen our scientific understanding of reproductive life course:

  1. Contraception, pregnancy, maternal health and childbirth;
  2. Infant mortality and morbidity and early child health; and
  3. Disease and risks in adolescence and young adult health.
